Baobab can be found in the savannas of Africa and India, mostly around the equator. It can grow to 25 feet and can live for several thousand years. Baobab is leafless for nine months a year. If I were to describe the baobab, I would say that it looks like has been taken out of the ground and put back upside down. The trunk would-tap roots, and branches of the finer capillary roots.
Arab legend baobab is that "the devil was uprooted baobab, thrust its branches into the earth and left
. roots in the air "Another legend explains what happens if you never feel satisfied with what you already have;
"baobab was among the first trees that appear in the land of Next. a slender, graceful palm trees. When the baobab saw the palm tree, it cried out that it wants to be taller. Then the beautiful flame tree appeared with a red flower and the baobab was envious to flower buds. When the baobab saw the magnificent fig tree, he prayed for fruit and also the god became angry with the tree and pulled by the roots,. then replanted upside down to stay calm. "
Baobab look like this for a reason. In the wet months water is stored in a thick stem like a cork, hold fire for the nine dry months ahead.
The baobab's skin, leaves, fruit, and stem all in use. Skin baobab is used for cloth and rope, the leaves for condiments and medicines, while the fruit, called "monkey bread", is eaten. Sometimes people live in a big trunk, and bush-babies live in the crown.
